invites you to a Summer Series evening event (Level D) in
Preston Park

This is the second event in a series of six.

Location:

Parking and Registration will be in the public car park in Preston Park, off the A135 (Yarm Road) in Eaglescliffe, just south of the A66.  The grid reference of the entrance to the car park is NZ 426158 and Preston Park's postcode is TS18 3RH.

Terrain: Preston Park is suburban parkland adjoining the River Tees.  It includes open grassed areas and paths, water features, small wooded areas and several buildings.
Note: Two paths are overgrown.  These have been marked by red crosses on the map, and you are strongly advised not to try to use them.
Courses:
Long5.6 km with 70m climb
Medium     3.8 km with 55m climb
Short1.9 km with 25m climb

You can run a second course for free!  If you'd like to do this, please turn up early for your first run so that you have time to complete your second run before the courses close.

The control descriptions will be printed on the maps, and separate loose copies will be available at Registration.

Punching system:

SPORTident electronic punching will be used.

SI-cards will be available for loan on the evening free of charge.  Please look after your borrowed SI card as there will be a £40 charge if you lose it.

Registration: 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Starts:

5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.         Courses close at 7:45 p.m.

Please note that the park gates will be locked at 9 p.m.

Seniors on the Medium or Long course:     £4.00
Seniors on the Short course:£1.50
Juniors / Students (with ID):£1.50
Facilities:

First aid at Registration.  Please bring your own refreshments.

Please note that there will be no toilets at this event.  (The Preston Park toilets will not be available.)

Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome at this event and can be taken out on the courses.

CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event.

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the Organiser, but please remember that competitors take part at their own risk.  Orienteering is an adventure sport – your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility.

Insurance: Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and you have not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance.
