This is the fourth and final race of the Autumn Short Race Series held between October and December 2018.

It is also the final race in the 2018 NE Urban League.

Newcomers to orienteering:   Help and advice will be available at this event.  Just come along and ask!

Location:

The event will take place in Stokesley School in the market town of Stokesley.

Parking will be in the school grounds, which are accessed from Station Road at grid reference NZ 530083.  The postcode is TS9 5AL.

Registration will be nearby.

Terrain:

School grounds with complex buildings and grass areas.

Shorts may be worn.

There will be three courses available:

Map:

Scale 1:1,500   Size A4   The courses will be overprinted on the maps, which will be printed on waterproof paper.

Please note that if there is an unexpectedly large entry you may be asked to recycle your map so that others can run.

Control descriptions will be printed on the map and available separately.

Punching system:

This event will use SPORTident electronic punching.  The controls (but not the Start and Finish boxes) will be enabled for touch-free SIAC punching.

If you have your own SI-card then please bring it along to Registration.

SI-cards will be available to borrow on the day at no charge.  Please look after yours, as there will be a £40 for any lost SI-card.

Times:

Registration: 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.     Starts: 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.     Courses close at 11:30 a.m.

IMPORTANT NOTE  The school security gates will be shut at 12 noon, so all cars need to have left the car park by then.

Entries:

Seniors:  £4.00
Juniors (M/W20-) and Students (with ID):  £1.50

You can run a second course for free, but if you intend to do this please try to start your first run early, and make sure you register again so we know who is still out.

There is no need to pre-enter for this event, but if you are bringing a group then please contact the Organiser in advance so that we can print enough maps.

Facilities:

First Aid at Registration.

Please note that there will be no toilets at this event.  The nearest public toilets are here in Stokesley town centre.

Please bring your own refreshments.

Dogs: No dogs are allowed in the school grounds.

Safety:

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the Organiser, but please remember that competitors take part at their own risk.  Orienteering is an adventure sport – your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility.

CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event.

Please remember that you download even if you do not complete your course.

If you have a relevant medical condition please complete a form at Registration.

Lone drivers: Please leave your labelled car keys at Registration as a safety check.

Insurance: Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and you have not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance.
