Well, I apologise on behalf of the weather that caused us to postpone the event from last weekend.  The forecast didn't look great but sometimes you can never tell unless you are there.  So I made a trip down Saturday morning to assess conditions.  It turned out many things were less than ideal, with the long hill after Osmotherley almost passable, but very likely to be an ice rink after a hard freeze on Saturday night, and the Drover's Road where we were parking was very snowy.  Although somehow the toilet had managed to get there on Friday morning before it was too bad, and got some use from passing walkers over the weekend!

Many thanks to everyone in CLOK who leapt into action to make the event happen the weekend after instead.  We were lucky to find a gap in the calendar (the next nearest event was in Keswick), permissions were hastily rearranged, most volunteers could still help, notably all three main officials, so with a few changes it went ahead.

It turned out well worth rescheduling, with a good turnout and the sun shining.  I hope those on Blue and Brown enjoyed their loop in Coalmire Woods – we haven't been in there for many years, and while most will agree it is physical (!), it does add some nice variety to the courses.

Many thanks to Alan for planning, and Ray for controlling, and to all the CLOK volunteers who helped on the day.
