Summer Series Evening Event in

This is the last of five Summer Series events taking place between April and July 2019.
Location:

Parking will be in the Belmont House council offices car park adjacent to Rectory Lane, Guisborough.  The grid reference is NZ 612156 and the postcode is TS14 7FD.

There is a £1 parking charge before 6 p.m., but parking is free after 6 p.m.

Registration will be on the grass area on the other (north) side of Rectory Lane.

Terrain:

Mainly residential streets and small areas of grass.

Please note that, as all the courses involve road crossings, all competitors must be aged 16 or over on the day of the event.

Long4.9 km     21 controls
Medium     3.7 km14 controls
Short2.3 km11 controls

You can run a second course for free!  If you'd like to do this, please turn up early for your first run so that you have time to complete your second run before the courses close.

Control descriptions will be printed on the map and available separately.

Punching system: This event will use SPORTident electronic punching.  If you have your own SI card then please bring it along to Registration.  SI cards will be available to borrow on the day at no charge.  Please look after yours, as there will be a £40 charge for any lost SI card.
Registration: 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Starts: 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.         Courses close at 7:30 p.m.
Fees:
Seniors on the Medium or Long course:     £4.00
Seniors on the Short course:£1.50
Juniors / Students (with ID):£1.50
Facilities:

There will be no toilets at this event but there are public toilets in the Fountain Street car park, which is about 300 metres east of Registration.

First Aid at Registration.

Please bring your own refreshments.

Dogs: Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the Registration area, but cannot be taken out on the courses.

Safety:

Please make sure that you download even if you do not complete your course.

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the Organiser, but please remember that competitors take part at their own risk.  Orienteering is an adventure sport – your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility.

Lone drivers: Please leave your labelled car keys at Registration as a safety check.

If you have a relevant medical condition, please complete a form at Registration.

CLOK recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event.

Insurance: Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and you have not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance.
