Location:

The county town of Northallerton in North Yorkshire.

Parking will be in a hard-standing car park at Hambleton District Council Offices at Stone Cross.  The grid reference is SE 370949 and the postcode is DL6 2UU.

Registration will be at the south-east side of the Leisure Centre, adjacent to the parking area.

Terrain: Varied urban terrain with small alleyways, residential areas and some open parkland.
Courses:

Seven courses are offered.  Competitors aged 16 or over on the day of the event may run any course.  Under 16s may only run courses F or G.

The recommended allocation of age classes to courses is as follows:-

Map:

1:5,000 scale.     A3 size for courses A-E and A4 for courses F and G.     The courses will be overprinted on the maps, which will be printed on waterproof paper.

The control descriptions will be printed on the maps, and separate loose copies will be available at Registration.

Punching system:

SPORTident electronic punching will be used.

SI-cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of £1 each.  Please look after your hired SI card as there will be a £40 charge if you lose it.

The control boxes will be activated to enable SIAC cards to operate in touch-free mode ..... but please note that you will need to punch the old-fashioned way at the Start and Finish.

Entries: There will be no pre-entries for this event.  Enter on the day.
Bibs: All competitors will need to wear a numbered bib while running.  Bibs be given out at Registration.  Please bring safety pins to attach your bib to your O-top.
Registration: 10 a.m. - 12 noon
Starts:

10:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m..         Courses close at 2 p.m.

The Start will be close to Registration.

Fees:
Seniors on courses A – E:£7.00   (£2 surcharge for non-members of British Orienteering)
Juniors / Students / Seniors running courses F or G:    £2.00 

Please help us by bringing the correct change.

Facilities:

Toilet in the Leisure Centre.  First aid at the Finish.

No drinks will be provided at the Finish.  Please bring your own.

There are food and drink vending machines in the Leisure Centre and there are many shops, cafes and restaurants in the town centre, which is about 10 minutes' walk south from the Leisure Centre or adjacent to free parking spaces on the High Street.

Dogs: Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the parking area, but are not allowed out on to the courses.

Safety:

Remember that you must download even if you have not completed your course.

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the Organiser, but please remember that competitors take part at their own risk.  Orienteering is an adventure sport – your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility.

Lone drivers: Please leave labelled car keys at Registration.

If you have a relevant medical condition please complete a form at Registration.

CLOK recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event.

Insurance: Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and you have not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance.
