What an amazing day to enjoy Charles' interesting and (appropriately) technical courses!  About 120 competitors of all ages took on the challenge of navigating through a variety of terrain types.  This is the best time of year to enjoy the moorland around Roseberry Topping, as the brambles and bracken are at their lowest level, while next month the birds start preparing to nest and we aren’t allowed to venture off the paths for several months!

I think we had every type of weather possible, from blue skies and sunshine through to horizontal hail, with a few squalls of snow and rain mixed in.  It was all quite chilly, though, so good kit was definitely needed.

Thanks to all the competitors who took on today's challenge, and a huge thank you to all the volunteers who made it possible to run this event – Charles Mayes (Planner), Dave Riches (Controller), Nic Barber, Ossie Gardner, Dominic Green, John Green, Malcolm Hewitson, Neil Hunter, Chris Mackenzie, Dave Murphy and Ian Scott.  Oh, and if someone wants to claim their O-shoes and soggy socks, please contact me!
