CLOK will be competing in the CompassSport Trophy Final at Devilla & Tulliallan, near Kincardine on the north bank of the River Forth (between Edinburgh and Stirling), on Sunday 16‑Oct‑2022.

Why not make a weekend of it?

The Stirling City Race is taking place on Saturday 15‑Oct‑2022.

CLOK's CompassSport Cup Team Captain, Alan Cranke, has booked the bunkhouse and holiday home at Balnagownie Mains Farm for the nights of Friday 14‑Oct‑2022 and Saturday 15‑Oct‑2022.

Balnagownie Mains Farm is very close to Devilla & Tulliallan, and it's only a short drive from Stirling.

The bunkhouse has three ensuite bedrooms, configured for 3, 4 and 5 people (making a total of 12), together with a large communal lounge, a kitchen and an outdoor patio.

The holiday home, 'Bramble Brae' has four bedrooms.  Two can be set up with either king-size or twin beds.  The other two have twin beds.  (It may be possible for provide additional beds for two children in one of the bedrooms.)  There's a spacious open-plan living / dining area with a log burner, a modern, fully equipped kitchen and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.  There are some bikes for guests to use, a pool table and an air hockey table.

The accommodation is on a working farm.  There's a play area for children, and the farm may be willing to arrange tours of the animals.

The costs for the two nights (14th and 15th October) are:

Shared room in the bunkhouse £63 per person
Ensuite double or twin room £100 per person
Double or twin room with shared bathroom     £90 per person

The CompassSport Cup (and Trophy)

The CompassSport Cup (CSC) is an interclub competition with regional heats and a final, which this year is in central Scotland.  The competition is split into the Cup (clubs with over 125 members) and the Trophy (clubs with 125 or fewer members).

This year CLOK is in the Trophy competition.

Courses

Each age group is allocated to a colour-coded course from Orange to Brown, as shown in this table.

On each course, the winner gets 100 points, and the score for lower places drops by 1 or 2 points per place depending on whether the class is categorised as "large" or "small". them.

We may need some people 'run up' to balance our team and give us the best chance of progressing.  I'll always consult / persuade a competitor before before entering them in a course other than their allocated one.

Please note that juniors cannot be shadowed if they're competing in the CSC competition.

There will also be White, Yellow and Light Green courses available at the event for runners who are not taking part in the main event.

The club will pay all entry fees for the CompassSport Trophy runners.

Entries

CLOK members can sign up for this event via Racesignup. Please do so as soon as you know that you're able to come to the event, as it will help our Team Captain to plan the arrangements.

Final words

Please put this in your calendar and watch out for further information.  If we can get a good number of runners to the event we can be very competitive in the Trophy competition.
