The timing of this event was good in terms of bracken, which was only just starting to sprout and unfurl.
The weather was, if anything, too hot for running, given the fairly harsh nature of the terrain ..... but nice for a post-event picnic and social. The views were fantastic if you had chance to have a look!
Whilst the overall climb was reasonable, some of the slopes were steep and difficult. Given that Green was the shortest TD5 course, I could have suggested less climb to make it more senior friendly ...... so apologies to those who found it too tough.
After giving the OK to the Start team, I spent a little time watching competitors going to their first one or two controls on the eastern slope. Dave had a nice scatter of controls in this area, giving good variation across the courses. Even though it is quite a narrow band, it seemed to work well.
Thanks to all the team who made the day run smoothly.
