Organiser's comments

Well unfortunately the weather didn't live up to expectation.  The forecasters had been assuring us for weeks that we'd have balmy sunshine this weekend, but the day started off chilly and misty, only becoming nice after most people had finished.

But the orienteering was great due to Paul Taylor's masterful planning, which made full use of the heavily contoured terrain. &nbp;Many competitors said at Download that they were surprised how good this area was.  Recognition should also go to Brendon Anglim, who brought a minibus full of young people – many of whom were new to orienteering – and providing all of them with a rewarding life experience.

Thanks also to David Horn for controlling, Clare Hunter, Becky King and Martyn & Celia Dean on starts, Peter Archer on car parking, Wendy Taylor on control hanging and collecting and Clare Hunter on SI, plus the back-room team who support every event: Marion Archer (equipment), Alastair Mackenzie (webmaster and tray-bake procurement), and Joe Trigg (online entry system).

Thanks to all those who took part and made this event another CLOK success.
