Planner's comments

I was keen to introduce competitors to two new areas of Barnard Castle – west of the river Wear for the longer courses and the Senior and Prep schools next door to Bowes Museum for the shorter ones.  Revising the map was something of a 'splat-the-rat' game, as several hot spots of development led to updates being made right up to the print deadline – thanks to Phill Batts for the quick turnarounds) and on the day!.  Unfortunately, some people were affected by an older change that I didn't notice.  Sorry.

On the plus side, the route choices and complexity offered by the new mapping appear to have been well-received and there is ample scope for a challenging return visit to Barney.
