Organiser's comments
This year's Acorn Event, held at Ayton Moor, saw 98 competitors enjoying some really well planned and suitably challenging courses provided by Stuart Fraser and controlled by Allen Banister. There were many positive comments, both for the Planner and the views to be had!
The team of helpers were outstanding and provided a very proficient and trouble free event. The parking team deserve a special mention for creativity, diligence and diplomacy at a venue heavily used by the public, who were out in force on a fine early spring weekend. Thank you as well to all competitors for their patience and co-operation in parking sensibly.
The event was a good showcase for the sport and there were some positive and interesting conversations with the public.
The North-East Junior Squad made use of the event for a weekend together, training at Coate Moor on Saturday, staying overnight at Great Ayton Village Hall and then effectively practicing their race skills on Ayton Moor.
This was a rare appearance for me as an Organiser and I must say a final thanks to those who reminded me what to do!
