Cleveland Orienteering Klub (CLOK)RED RUNNERS PROMOTION |
|
The Red Runners promotion gives runners a chance to have a free entry for the Red course at selected CLOK events.
At orienteering events, Red courses are specially designed to give runners with relatively little navigational experience a good run out with enough navigational challenge to keep things interesting. If you're already good at navigating at pace through complex terrain, try one of the more technical courses, such as Brown or Blue.
Our not-so-hidden agenda is to attract more people into orienteering. We're pretty confident that quite a few people who give orienteering a try via the Red Runners promotion will want to come back for more orienteering. The combination of physical (running) and mental (navigating) challenges can be quite addictive!
For more information about orienteering including things like what to wear, the special orienteering map symbols and some tips on how to improve your orienteering performance have a look at the new to orienteering section of this web site or ask our new chatbot. Help will also be available at each event. Just ask at Enquiries / Download.
"Free entry" vouchers are available via selected running clubs in CLOK's area. Each voucher covers your entry fee for a Red course at a CLOK event and hiring an SI card (aka "dibber") to record your visits to the controls and your time to complete the course.

Here's the current list of events participating in the Red Runners promotion. If you don't see an event that suits you, check back a bit later. More events will be added as the year's orienteering calendar develops. Click on an event location for more information about that event (including timings, how to get there, etc.)
