Location

The Start is on the southern side of the junction between Newgate and Birch Road, at What3words reference ///presses.serenade.players.

You should be able to park along the roadside on Newgate, near the Bowes Museum.  The grid reference of the centre of the parking area is NZ 054161 and the What3words reference is ///intersect.compiler.wink.  The postcode DL12 8NW.

If you can't find a space on Newgate, try Parsons Lonnen to the south or Birch Road to the north.

Don't park too close to the junction between Newgate and Birch Road, as your MapRun6 app may get confused if you start it up too close the Start / Finish.

Facilities

There are public toilets near the south end of Market Place, at What3words reference ///potato.epidemics.insect.

Safety

Please use a buddy system so that someone knows where you are and when you should return.

Please be courteous to members of the public in the competition area and, in particular, don't intrude into their 'social distancing' space.  From your own point of view, remember that it's not worth risking catching Covid-19 just to save a few seconds on a navigation challenge.
