Location
The Start is on the pavement at the north end of the Cobblers Hall car park, at What3words reference ///condition.rungs.handy.
You should be able to park in the Cobblers Hall car park. The grid reference of the entrance to the car park is NZ 271261 and the What3words reference is ///tanked.described.boss.
Facilities
There are no are no public toilets in the vicinity of the Cobblers Hall car park. There is a customer toilet in the Tesco supermarket on Greenwell Road (postcode DL5 4DH), about 0.8 mile south-east of the car park. Follow the link for a map.
Courses
In the MapRun6 app, Select Event and look for UK / County Durham / Aycliffe / Newton Aycliffe North VOC xxxxx, where xxxxx is Long, Medium, Short or Score.
The competition area is quiet residential parts of the County Durham village of Newton Aycliffe and Woodham. All the courses involve crossing roads which can be busy. Please take care when crossing roads.
IMPORTANT: Anyone under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note that the map is not a "proper" orienteering map, and there may be some unmapped buildings, paths, etc.
Paper maps
If you'd prefer to use a paper map rather than the one on your smartphone (which is going to be quite small and can be tricky to see in bright sunlight) you can use the link below to download a PDF copy of the map and print it off at home. If you don't have a suitable printer, Phill Batts is offering a map printing service.

Results
You can access the results via the MapRun Console. Open the menu (three horizontal lines at the top left hand corner of the window), select Leader Board and then filter by Aycliffe.

Please use a buddy system so that someone knows where you are and when you should return.
Please be courteous to members of the public in the competition area.
Remember to comply with Government guidance on social distancing. For one thing, permission to continue to organise these challenges depends on participants being clearly seen to be following the coronavirus rules. Also, from your own point of view, it's not worth risking catching Covid-19 just to save a few seconds on a navigation challenge.
