Family Fun Days – August Bank Holiday Weekend

Stokesley Leisure Centre – Sat 24th August – 10am-1pm

A range of different challenges to complete, suitable for ages 5 and over!

  • 2 Map-Reading Courses around Stokesley Town Centre (Easy, Medium, Hard) – Children must be accompanied by an adult
  • 3 Shorter Map-Reading Courses around Stokesley School (Easy, Medium, Hard)
  • 2x Indoor Navigation Games!
  • 1x Outdoor Navigation Game!

All activities start and end from the Leisure Centre. Indoor and Outdoor space is provided so we will run regardless of the weather, come dressed appropriately.

The day will be £5 for a family.

Location

Taking place in Stokesley Leisure Centre, Stokesley School and around the town. Parking is in the Leisure Centre Car Park. The grid reference is NZ530084, and the What3words reference is ///dorms.crispy.ruling.

Programme

We will be running activities and courses from 10am to 1pm.

We have an indoor space in the Leisure centre, and outdoor spaces around the school, and will be running a range of games and courses. We are running 2 indoor games, 1 outdoor game, 3 courses in varying ability around Stokesley School, as well as 2 courses in varying ability around the town. 

This day is suitable for all abilities, we are focusing on exposing the sport to new families, and having fun and learning new navigational skills.

All you need is yourself, clothes for the weather, and your own food and drink if you would like.

Facilities

Toilets will be available in the leisure centre.

Please bring your own drink as none will be provided.

Safety

We will go ahead regardless of the weather, so please come prepared.

Please be aware of other users of the Leisure centre, and members of the public around the town.

Please be careful when crossing roads around the town, there are likely to be cars out.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult on the courses around the town, but are free to complete the courses that remain inside the school by themselves.
